Rose Foods: Delightful Bagels and Sandwiches in Portland

actually the best lox bagel i’ve had in my life. such good food! a little pricey but honestly worth the stop!! go get some breakfast and coffee, enjoy it there, the whole cafe is adorable and staff were all friendly!

Great morning bagel sandwich spot - excellent quality, excellent selection, excellent service. Snagged a salami egg and added watercress; an egg cheese and added turkey bacon. The food was fast, the service was kind/nice. Price was good for the quality. $11-13 per with those additions referenced. This icon is worth a stop (as you likely already knew)

I waited 20 minutes for my bagel. I understand they were packed and take a lot of orders at once. I paid extra for a extra cream cheese and the cream cheese barely covers the bagel. I was so excited as this is my first time and now I don’t really feel the want to come back. The lady was very nice when I asked if my bagel could be an extra toasted after my order was taken. It is delicious but i’m disappointed.

I really enjoyed this bagel shop. The bagels are freshly made on the premises and the staff were very attentive. This is not to say that this is a New York bagel shop but it doesn’t present itself as that type of restaurant. My everything bagel was very tasty and the nova was of good quality. My only regret is that I only had one opportunity to eat here on my recent trip to Portland. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Thank you Rose Foods - you made my day. Coming from Denver, I’m always on the hunt for the best bagel, and my dreams have come true! The bagels are superb, crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The whitefish is the best I’ve ever had. I couldn’t decide what to get so I ordered the Fisherman’s Feast, which offers a variety of everything I wanted to try from whitefish to pastrami nova and two other types of lox. 10/10 Would recommend to a friend.

These are serious bagels and I hope they don't move to NYC (see m.e. mcnair cartoon hanging in the bakery). Although a huge fan of the sourdough from Scratch in SoPo, these bagels are perhaps a better choice if you are searching for a NY style bagel. Good cup of coffee, cozy setting, NY Times & PPH to read, and the steamy fresh baked aroma of bagels. And the Good Deal is exactly that - plus a friendly, helpful staff.

Rose Foods feels incredibly local in the best way — the kind of place you walk into and immediately get hit with the smell of fresh bagels and know you’re in the right spot. The bagels are clearly handmade, with great quality and that perfect balance of chew and texture. The homemade cream cheese is excellent and really completes it. The staff works hard and it shows — efficient, focused, and still friendly, even when things are busy. As someone who grew up on NYC bagels, I don’t say this lightly, but these were pretty damn close. Definitely worth the stop.
